In March our feature is new work by selected gallery artists. Most of the work is representational in varying sizes. Christie Taylor will show paintings from her last stay in Ballycastle, Ireland. Nancy West’s work reflects her small painting project she has done this winter. We are pleased to include small expressionist paintings by Hunter Nesbitt. The paintings shown below offer a preview. The opening reception is First Friday, March 1 from 5 until 8.
This month Hunter Nesbitt will greet you at the gallery. His work is very minimal landscapes done in pastel and oil.

When we opened the gallery in November 2003 we met new artists when they stopped by to see our space and our gallery approach. Hunter Nesbitt was an early visitor for whom we planned a show in June 2004. At that time Nesbitt was focused on abstracted representations of marsh grasses in winter and wave patterns in water and clouds all done in pastel on heavy archival paper. After reconnecting with Nesbitt this year we decided to show his latest work – Abstractions from Nature – that includes pastels but also oils on canvas. Nesbitt’s work continues to be subtle, minimal and serene.
