Treasures Reclaimed created by the Pocosin Arts Metal Guild

From Friday, July 8 through July 23, in our front windows we will show a traveling exhibit, Treasures Reclaimed, created by the Pocosin Arts Metal Guild. It was a conversation with Dorothy Ansell, a North Carolina metal artist who visits this area, that we learned about this challenge proposed to the Guild members last year. The challenge was to create earrings from anything found on the beach making a one-of-a-kind unique and amusing design. The beach theme appealed to us as do the amazing creations and descriptions the artists include in the shadow box presentations. There are 16 designs with titles that were required to start with “Re.” Be sure to stop in to see how this challenge can inspire others to use beach finds in creative ways!
