Our November artists are one of our mother-daughter teams. Louise Dusinberre, a native of Wicomico County, is the daughter of Martha Graham and the late Jack Graham. She now lives in the Philadelphia area but her Eastern Shore roots draw her to painting images from rural life. Pastels, her chosen medium, give her paintings softness and mood that evoke the calm of a freshly harvested field or the curiosty of farm animals. Her career in the fashion world influenced her eye for color and texture and influenced her teaching mixed media art at the Wayne (PA) Art Center.
Martha Graham, the other part of this team, has also been an influence for Louise’s interest in different mediums. In the time I have known Martha, and shown her work, she has consistently explored different art forms. From multimedia visual art to handmade books, she is always inspired by the challenge of new projects. In this show she is showing paintings using etching, collage and painting over photographs. By the time the paintings arrive I am sure there will be other intriguing “projects” to show.
The opening reception and wine tasting for this talented mother and daughter is First Friday, November 6 from 5 to 7:30. Added to the evening will be a preview of artisan jewelry Wanda Jester of Counterpoint Studios will have at a “Trunk Show” here on Friday, December 4. On First Friday Wanda will bring a selection of her most popular collections of necklaces and earrings to browse or pick up as early Chiristmas gifts. Keep in mind she will be back here for an expanded show in December.
And we thank you for supporting Bishop’s Stock and our artists fro the past 23 years. Cheers to year 24!

Louise Dusinberre
