IIn September we are featuring work by two Eastern Shore artists – Meg Nottingham Walsh and Nancy West. These talented women do not have to search for subjects. They paint what interests them from a particular time or place. Both are realistic painters but Meg’s use of color and simplified images make her paintings almost abstract. In contrast, Nancy’s realism goes in many directions from impressionistic plein air paintings to detailed wildlife images. You may have also seen her sumie watercolors or her exquisite figures shown here. Meg’s paintings will be a mixture of marshes, creeks and places familiar on the Eastern Shore. Nancy will be showing a new direction she has taken using metal leaf, acrylic and oil paired with her skill as a wildlife artist.
