It is that time of year when our artists “sweep” their studios so they have room for new work. Large and small, framed and unframed paintings perfect for gifts or for your collection.
Each December Bishop’s Stock’s artists clean out their studios to offer art lovers a chance to add to their collections or find the perfect gift at great savings. For the artists this gives a chance to sell older work, the last of a series or paintings that just need to go! For those who appreciate local talent this means a great selection of oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels – large and small. Most work is unframed but there is a small selection of paintings ready to hang plus a few frames to purchase. The sale continues through December and January so there is plenty of time to leisurely search for that perfect find. During this time newer work by gallery artists is also displayed but not at reduced prices.
Come visit with our July featured artist, Nancy Richards West. She will be here to demonstrateher diverse artistic talents from 11 to 5.
March means it is time to welcome spring with new work by gallery artists. This month we will introduce the work of several new artists – Greg Challenger and Carroll Klingelhofer. Also included in the show are Leslie Belloso, Ed Challenger, Helene English, Fred Sprock, Christie Taylor and Nancy Richards West. The diversity of their work shows a range of painting styles and formats. The opening reception is First Friday, March 4 from 5 until 8.

March is a great time to show new work by our artists. Some of the paintings are fresh off the easel while others were done in recent months. It is always interesting to see what imagery and subjects come off their canvases and paper. Some of our artists stay with the same medium and representational subjects while others explore different techniques and vary what they want to paint. It is always refreshing to see what direction they take. Included in the show are Leslie Belloso, Carole Boggemann Peirson, Scot Dolby, Lynne Lockhart, Kirk McBride, Jim Rehak, Fred Sprock, Roxanne Weidele and Nancy West.
We are offering a 1 day sale on large paintings and the chance to win “Orange Dinghy” by Kirk McBride. During June Bishop’s Stock will have two features – small paintings by a group of our artists and watercolors by C. Keith Whitelock. Showing small paintings are Deborah Rolig, Barbara Mowery, Lynne Lockhart and Nancy West. Their work includes Deborah’s expressive figures, Barbara’s simple landscapes, Lynne’s girls on the beach and Nancy’s wildlife pastels. Our other feature introduces Keith Whitelock to the gallery. Keith is well-known in the region for his paintings of working boats, bay side marshes and waterfowl. He is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists and his work has been featured in publications throughout the area. We are very pleased to welcome Keith to Bishop’s Stock.
